because of you
this day long back
had a meaning for life
because you were there in it
this day long back
had a togetherness
that gave colours to life
this day long back
had a significance
as it bonded us
this day long back
was starting point to many
events that unfolded between us
this day and the years followed
had us together
from dawn to dusk
this day not-so long back
had special celebrations
to mark the beginning
this day, today
is also special
just coz of me
this day, today
life has much greater
meaning despite you
not being there in it
this day, today
and everyday has
new colours in life
called happiness & peace
this day, today
still holds significance
in its own, for the
little moments of life
this day, today
is just not a mere starting point
it’s an everyday journey
with new crests and troughs
this day, today
each moment from
dawn to dusk, become
part of life, which I don’t regret
this day, today
doesn’t call for celebrations
neither for beginning nor for ending
but the journey itself has
become a celebration
a never ending one
called life, with me holding the
reins of it……………
but still, this day of that age
has become a memory that
never leaves me but fades with time
