பூமித்தாய்க்கு நன்றி சொல்வது
போல் இருந்தது..
அதேபோல்
எங்கள் கைப்பட்டதும்
(பழங்களை பறித்தபொழுது)
நீ நிமிர்ந்தது
வெட்கி குனிந்த புது மணப்பெண்
மணமகன் கைப்பட்டதும்
நிமிர்வது போல் இருந்தது.
Oh trees,
With fruits on your branches
when you touched the land,
unable to bear the weight
it looked like you are paying
respect to the Motherland.

on plucking the fruits
It looked like a newly-wed bride
